I am located 3 blocks from Ashby BART, 2 blocks from Berkeley Bowl, and close to multiple bus lines.
Parking in this neighborhood is relatively easy. Shattuck offers primarily quartered metered parking, but all of the side streets have 2-hour unpaid parking. Watch out for street sweeping as well as the South side of Ashby, East of Shattuck, where there is no parking between 4-6pm.
